Setting Domain Pricing

WHMAZ will not offer an extension it has no price for. If a customer searches for a domain and gets nothing back, missing pricing is the first thing to check.

Adding an extension

  1. Go to Domains → Domain Pricing and click Add.
  2. Enter the extension including the leading dot, for example .com.
  3. Set a price for registration, renewal and transfer separately, for each term you want to offer.
  4. Save, then confirm the extension now appears in a client portal search.

Price the renewal, not just the registration

Many registrars sell the first year cheaply and charge substantially more to renew. If you copy only the registration price you will lose money on every renewal from the second year onwards. Always check your registrar's renewal cost and price accordingly.

Practical advice

  • Start with a handful of extensions. A short, well-priced list is easier to maintain than a hundred you never review.
  • Set transfer pricing deliberately. Pricing transfers at or slightly below registration is a common way to attract domains from competitors.
  • Review your costs periodically. Registry prices change, and WHMAZ keeps charging whatever you last entered.
  • Leave headroom. Registry fees, ICANN fees and currency movements all sit between your cost and your margin.

Multiple display currencies

If you show more than one currency, confirm the converted domain prices still make sense after conversion — rounding can turn a healthy margin into a loss on cheap extensions.
